Your Must-Have Wedding Fitness Tips

Bridal Bootcamps exist for a reason! Every bride wants to look her most beautiful and feel her best on her wedding day. Whether you want to lose weight or simply tone up before the big day, consider our Must-Have Wedding Fitness Tips!

Set Your Goals

The first step when creating your wedding fitness plan is to determine what you want to achieve. Your goal may be to lose 10 pounds or drop a couple inches. Be sure to set goals that are realistic, measurable, and ones you can track. Keep in mind however, that the pre-wedding period is not the time to drop 50 pounds. And we certainly don’t recommend purchasing a wedding dress that is 2 sizes too small. You don’t want to stress over every pound and bite of food leading up to your wedding day, worrying about whether your dress will fit. Keep fitness goals reasonable and within reach.

Start Early

Any bride can achieve measurable results with an intense 4 week bridal boot camp and diet, but if you prioritize your health and fitness from the beginning of your engagement, there shouldn’t be any need to put yourself through such extreme measures. Particularly during an already busy, and stressful time in your life. Give yourself at least 3 - 6 months to achieve the results you want to see on your wedding day. You will thank yourself for starting early when you don’t have to feel guilty for indulging in a little cake tasting. Don’t let your fitness goals spoil the joy and excitement you should be feeling as you plan your wedding.

Utilize Local Fitness Services

Jumpstart your fitness regime by signing up for classes at a local gym or fitness club. There are many workouts plans with varying techniques to help you get fit and ready for your special day. Some major fitness movements that are currently all the rage include Pure Barre, Yoga, Pilates, and Orange Theory. Many fitness clubs offer trial periods and classes so you can test them out and see if it’s the right plan for you and your body. Some brides may even find this to be the perfect time to join a running club and sign up for a half-marathon.

Find an Achievable Diet Plan

The key to finding a diet plan that will help you feel amazing on your wedding day is to not go with anything too strict or crazy. Martha Stewart Weddings states, “We get it. You want to look and feel your best on your big day. But that doesn't mean you should go crazy with the pre-wedding dieting and weight loss. Instead, simply focus on developing healthy eating habits—without going overboard.” They go on to point out that a pre-wedding diet plan should emphasize consumption of nutritious, clean whole foods, instead of focusing on fasting and restriction. Besides, you don’t want to be starving and miserable during what should be one of the most special times of your life.

When preparing your body for the big day the goal is not to not overwork yourself. With all the tasks involved in planning a wedding, the last thing you need to do is get stressed out over a couple of pounds, or even injure yourself with a too-strenuous workout. Exercise should be a source of stress-relief and a great excuse to give yourself an hour of “me time” a few times a week. The most important thing to remember is that regardless of your size or shape, the most beautiful brides are happy, healthy, and comfortable in their own skin.
