With something borrowed and something blue checked off your list – now is the time to do something for you! The big day is over, you’re newly married and honestly there is no better time to unwind with your loved one and transform into a tropical goddess. Honeymoons are the best!

Here are my 5 Fashion Must-Haves for a romantic honeymoon:

Something For You: The perfect bathrobe. Say goodbye to your usual worn-out post-bath piece. A silky, sexy bathrobe or kimono is a must on my list. Look for a cover-up in your favorite color palette (I love pink and floral!) or in a supple fabric such as silk, satin, or lace. Choose something oh-so-soft that will make you feel wonderful and you’ll wear for years to come. This is the “something” you can slink into after your post beach/pool shower while, champagne in hand, you bask in newlywed bliss before heading off to that sunset dinner.

Something For Him: Sexy lingerie, ladies! Have fun with this! Pack 2-3 unmentionables, as there is no better way to whisper those sweet signs of affection. Wrap each piece you bring in tissue paper, and let him choose the surprise. It doesn’t have to be a complicated multi-piece costume. Try something with a hint of eyelash lace, or cover his eyes with a soft scarf or wrap – so no peeking! Keep it simple. Most men are perfectly happy knowing it’s for their eyes only.

Something For Date Night: The Little White Dress. Rock the dream dress. Yes, it’s totally possible to say I do to the dress twice! You’ll know you’ve found the one - easy to pack, lightweight, breathable, and a little saucy. Make it something exotic you wouldn’t wear anywhere else. Coastal living is meant to be seductive. Whether you prefer elegant and vintage, or fit to flatter, find something in sultry white to show off that newlywed glow.

Something For Adventure: You made it down the aisle, now it’s time to explore the world with your honey by your side. Time to make some memories in your walking shoes. Romance isn’t just for the honeymoon suite! It can be found exploring in the jungle, swimming with dolphins, or zip lining over an African safari. But, you won’t get very far if you have the wrong shoes. Converse and Adidas Stan Smiths are my fashion-friendly adventure shoe of choice. Fresh white kicks. Remember to bring a backpack or comfortable bag for carrying necessities (sunscreen, mini-fridge liquors . . .  whatever floats your boat!) And don’t forget your Polaroid camera!

Something for the Beach:  Since most honeymoon destinations include hot sun and ocean waves, swimwear is a must and has more options now than ever. Whether you plan on sipping cocktails by the pool or jumping waves in the ocean, go for feminine and flirty.  Relax by the sea in a sexy and svelte one-piece or choose two pieces that can offer support. I love keeping things in theme – so, if you are brave enough to pull off all white go for it! Add a little cover-up or sarong when heading to the spa, or for hanging out around your hotel or resort. Don’t forget a floppy sun hat, oversize shades, and sunscreen and you’re set for the most romantic getaway of your life!
