Real Wedding

Katie + Christian Wedding | June 9th

How They Met

The Bride // Christian & I both grew up in Ottawa Hills and all throughout elementary, middle, and high school was involved in the very same things. Even though we were always around each other whether it be on the playground or on the Football bus on the way to away games where he would play and I would cheer, we never actually spoke to each other until my Sophomore year and his Junior year. Our high school's musical that year was "Annie" and I was cast as Annie and Christian he was cast as Mr. Warbucks. As he was playing my dad in the musical, we spent quite a bit of time together and we quickly realized how much we had in common and became close friends. My 16-year-old self knew from our very first practice together that Christian and I had a connection and it didn’t take Christian much longer. Three months after the first time we talked, Christian and I went to prom and 8 years later we haven’t looked back.
Since May 1, 2010, we have never stopped laughing and have never run out of things to talk about. On May 12, 2017, Christian asked me to marry him in front of our families and our closest friends. He even had a violinist play because he knew I wanted something dramatic to add to the story. On June 9, 2018 (after more than 8 years of dating) we finally got to say "we do" to spending forever together!

Their Wedding

The Bride // Our main vision for our wedding was that we wanted our family and friends to have the time of their lives! We knew that this wedding was going to be OUR "best day ever," but we wanted our family and friends to feel the same and enjoy every second!! Our DJ, Decorative Sound did an amazing job keeping the dance floor full and our wedding planners, Bee for the Day made sure that our day was planned in a way that made it enjoyable (and stress-free) for everyone!!!

Décor wise, I would say that I envisioned a modern and elegant wedding. This was captured perfectly through our incredible venue, The Renaissance Hotel in Downtown Toledo. Along with our venue, Mager Designs' transformed our reception and ceremony space with Edison bulb chandeliers and draping, and Beautiful Blooms by Jen's AMAZING floral arrangements and arch completed the look perfectly.

With our visions coming together, we wanted every second captured. We chose Adore Wedding Photography as our photographers and they did just that. Loren and Mary Beth literally captured every moment from getting ready in the morning to the sparkler send-off at night!!!! We selected Fordham Footage as our videographers and they also captured every moment for us to look back on and watch any time we would like!!
