How They Met

The Bride // Andrew and I met online at Plenty of Fish. From the first time we met (brave guy came over to my friends house!), we knew we were meant for each other. From that very first moment, we grew as a couple each day. We enjoyed many adventures, fun, and challenges that brought us to the day we got engaged. August 8, 2015 was the best day of my life. Andrew got down on his knee in front of our family and friends. Then, the exciting time of wedding planning began!

Their Wedding

Ceremony + Reception Venue

The entire event was held at Parkway Place in Maumee. The evening ceremony was held in the Main Hall. Following the ceremony, guests moved to cocktail hour in the Mt. Vernon room. The Parkway staff worked to transform the Main Hall for our dinner and reception and the change was remarkable. The venue was gorgeous for each part of our day.

Parkway Place provided the catering. Our guests were served a variety of passed appetizers during cocktail hour. We also had several stations for them to grab a delicious bite to eat while they were enjoying their cocktails. For dinner, the chef prepared New York Strip Steak, Stuffed Shells with rose sauce, asparagus, and piped potatoes. The meal was incredible. We had many compliments on the taste and portion. The plates looked absolutely decadent as well. Our food was perfect.

Elizabeth Rairigh, Parkway Place, was our wedding planner. From day one, Elizabeth was dedicated to making our day just what we wanted. She met with us numerous times, showed us pictures, shared ideas, and created things that were special to our day. This one of a kind event could not have happened without Elizabeth guiding us every step of the way. She designed, organized, planned, and carried out a day we will never forget. Not only was she a great planner, she was a friend and helped me with all I needed. She is one amazing person and we can’t thank her enough. Parkway Place is lucky to have such a wonderful person leading their event team.

Julie Paszczykowski, JP Photography was our photographer. She took traditional photos with some modern flair. She was willing to travel to different locations for our engagement session and on the wedding day, both indoors and outdoors. She successfully kept things moving and controlled our large wedding party to be sure we got shots that we wanted. Julie did her job with a smile and was always positive. She was very easy to work with and made everyone feel very comfortable in front of the camera. I am very thankful to have the images she took to treasure forever and remember our very special day.

Jake Vriezelaar, Vriez Studios, was our videographer. He and his team were present for our entire day. They took live footage of all of the major events that happened. Then, Jake worked to compile all of the footage together, using the audio and video, to put together one incredible wedding trailer for us. The video he designed captures our day perfectly. I am so glad that we had Jake to put together such a special video to treasure and share our special day with others.

Jen Linehan, Beautiful Blooms by Jen, was our amazing florist. Her bubbly personality was perfect for adding pops of color and class to our wedding. Jen met with us several times to share ideas, choose colors, and talk things through. She knew exactly what I wanted, and she did not disappoint. Her work was better than I could have imagined. She designed arrangements with the perfect colors, shapes, and textures to match my vision. Everything was absolutely gorgeous. Jen and her team were there on the day of the wedding to set things up, move things around, and assist with whatever we needed. BBBJ was incredible and made our wedding absolutely perfect!

From the very first meeting, Kelly Henry of UpperCase Designs was amazing. She helped design our save the dates, shower invites, couple shower, wedding invitations, escort cards, thank you cards, ceremony + reception signage, programs, and several other items. Her creativity is second to none. She took the idea that I shared and designed just what I had envisioned. We worked together editing until things were absolutely perfect. Kelly met with me whenever I needed to chat and talk through things. She provided examples and gave me direction to help me get my ideas to come to life. I received so many compliments on how gorgeous our wedding stationery was, and Kelly deserves the credit for that. It was all stunning!

I found my wedding gown at The Gown Shop in Perrysburg. My LeAnn Belter Eugenie gown was a show stopper, it was blush chiffon with several layers. The bridesmaids wore spearmint gowns from Brideside in Chicago. The men wore navy blue suits from Men’s Warehouse.

Brandi Marroquin, Beauty By Brandi LLC, was our makeup artist. She sure knew how to make a girl feel beautiful. She did a trial run for me for my engagement pictures. Then, we worked together to talk through just what I wanted for my wedding day. She came to our hotel suite to complete all 9 women. She did a great job of listening to what each girl wanted and applying the makeup in a way to make them feel gorgeous. I was so in love with the way my makeup looked.  It was perfect! Brandi was amazing and I am so glad we had her around!

Paula Daugherty, from Memorable Creations, designed an incredible cake. We met with her and explained what we wanted. I then mailed her ribbon that I wanted involved somehow and she came up with a gorgeous layer of chocolate peanut butter, funfetti, strawberry champagne, and carrot. She even incorporated fish (since we met online at Plenty of Fish) on the top, just as we wanted. Our cake was more than perfect. Not only did it look amazing, it tasted just as good as it looked! (We can’t wait to eat the small cake she gave us for our anniversary!)

Chelsea and Dave from Ambient Effects stole the show with their lighting package. They started the ceremony with subtle uplighting and then moved everything for our reception. For the reception, they had lanterns hanging, blush uplighting, head table lights, and a pin light on our cake, which made for a romantic and cozy atmosphere for our dinner. The lights, which they could control with their iPads, were then adjusted as the night went on. They became brighter, more fun, and livelier as it got later. At the end of the night, we even had a glow party. Chelsea and Dave really knew how to make a party come to life. Our guests were so impressed with the lights and they made the pictures look great!
