Melinda + Matt Wedding | October 21st
How They Met
The Couple // Matt and Melinda met through a mutual friend, Sarah, who invited Melinda to go on a motorcycle ride with a few of her friends. Melinda was daring enough to go, but her parents were not to excited about her going on the back of a motorcycle with a stranger. After going home to change her clothes, Melinda was ready for the evening. Melinda's parents were very eager to go meet this new friend of hers. Melinda's dad, Kevin, asked who was taking Melinda on the motorcycle and Matt raised his hand cautiously and stated that he was. Kevin made it very apparent that he was concerned and stated, "she is our precious cargo, so be careful with her." Later that night after their meeting, Melinda received a text message from Matt that said how gorgeous she was and how he wanted to hang out together again.
The next day Matt and Melinda went to Side Cut Metropark, where they took a very long walk around the river and wildlife to learn more about each other. Ever since then they were inseparable. After a year of dating they moved in with each other and purchased a dog together, Addi, their pride and joy. Matt and Melinda enjoy going boating, riding motorcycles and just enjoying time with their family and friends. It was spending time with their families that made them love each other more.
After 3 years and 4 months, on November 6, 2016, Matt planned an amazing day up on Catawba Island. They started their day by going to Mon Ami where they enjoyed a Sunday brunch. All of their immediate family was there, including both of their parents and Melinda's grandfather. After they stuffed their faces with amazing food, they took a drive out to the Marblehead Lighthouse. Just like any other day, Melinda wanted a few pictures with Matt. They took some pictures in front of the lighthouse and then went out on the rocks in front of the water. While taking a picture facing the water, Matt gave the parents who were standing at a distance a thumbs up. Little did Melinda know that this was the signal that he was about to pop the big question. When Melinda turned back around, Matt was kneeling on one knee with the ring in his hand asking Melinda to marry him. Of course, Melinda said "YES!" They spent the rest of the day enjoying their time together with their family and friends.
