Miranda + Nick Wedding | December 29th

How They Met

The Couple // We met when Miranda was taking summer graduate courses at the University of Toledo and Nicholas was finishing up his degree at The Ohio State University. We met online, and Nick always seemed to ask me to hang out when I was busy with school work and my internships. One day, he sent me a text saying “if you don’t want to hang out with me, just say so” and I had no choice but to prove to him that he was wrong. Our first official date followed shortly after. Nick moved to Portsmouth, New Hampshire for work 6 months after we started dating. Six months after that, I earned my masters degree and moved to New Hampshire to be with him. December 16, 2017, we planned on celebrating Christmas together before traveling home for the holidays. Although Nicholas had a sore throat and I had a headache, we still went to our favorite diner for chocolate chip pancakes before going home and opening our presents. As I opened my last present from him, he ran back into the bedroom to get a gift he claimed to have forgotten. I opened that one, looked back at him confused because it was just an empty jewelry box, and there he was kneeling next to our Christmas tree holding the ring.
