Molly + Henry Wedding | June 1st
How They Met
The Bride // While we had classes together in college at the University of South Carolina, we didn’t officially meet until the Summer of 2013, when we happened to be living in the same student housing while interning in Charlotte. At just 20 and 22 years old, neither of us at the time thought we’d just met our future spouse, but we were inseparable from the start and knew we’d found something that made us both happy. Over the next five years, we grew through life together. We graduated from college, dated long distance for a year, each completed a graduate degree, and finally settled back down into our first careers in Charlotte, North Carolina. As the years went by, it was evident to us that we wanted to be together forever. In the spring of 2018, Henry proposed in the privacy of our home the morning we were leaving for a vacation in Punta Cana. He decorated the apartment in flowers and we toasted champagne, and then celebrated with a week in paradise. The private and romantic moment was a perfect reflection of our relationship and the life we’ve built together, and as an added bonus our beloved cat Oscar was able to be a part of the fun.
The Bride // Our vision was to have a wedding that was a lot of fun, stress-free, and intimate. We live in North Carolina, and while the Bride is from Toledo, the Groom’s side of the family is scattered all over, so having our wedding in Toledo was a “destination” wedding for many of our guests.
Toledo Country Club provided the perfect venue to showcase how beautiful Toledo is. We loved that we were able to have the ceremony and reception in the same venue, which helped the whole event flow seamlessly. We were super thankful TCC is also very versatile weather-wise since mother nature decided last minute not to cooperate and dumped hail on our planned outdoor ceremony along the river. The living room at TCC was still just as beautiful a setting, and we felt truly surrounded by the love of our family and friends throughout our entire ceremony.
So many people and vendors made our wedding everything we’d hoped for. For the décor, we decided to keep things very simple and let the 100-year-old building show itself off. Angel 101 provided beautiful classic centerpieces and arrangements for the venue with just the right pop of color. Our band, The Bradberries, kept the dance floor packed the entire night, and even learned some songs that were very sentimental to us. Our wedding coordinators from Bee for the Day made everything run smoothly despite the unexpected weather, allowing us to enjoy every moment of the day stress-free with our family and friends. To photograph our day, we hired Mary Wyar Photography, who somehow managed to capture every small and beautiful moment without ever making us feel uncomfortable or crowded. Our entire wedding weekend was truly the best of our lives, and we will cherish the memories of it forever.
