Real Wedding

Rachel + Andrew Wedding | June 24th

How They Met

The Bride // I was working at a local gym while in nursing school, and Andrew used to work out there. He was actually the first customer I met on my first day. We were friends for months before he asked me out on a date. Our first date was at Zia's restaurant on the docks. The night Andrew proposed to me we returned to Zia's for dinner. After dinner, we were sitting on a bench overlooking the water at sunset when he asked me to marry him.

Their Wedding

The Bride // We wanted the ultimate vision of elegance and romance. We used soft colors, dim lighting, candles, and twinkle lights. Our colors were light dusty blue, baby pink, white, and silver. The wedding ceremony and reception was held at Park Inn in downtown Toledo. The columns and grand staircase were gorgeous and the perfect setting for pictures, and their catering was delicious. Our cake from Eston's was chocolate supreme and white chocolate silk, topped with flowers from Your Perfect Day, and a Harry Potter themed topper.

Kent and Stephanie photography captured the day beautifully and were so much fun to work with. We would recommend them to anyone and everyone we talk to. April from Your Perfect Day did all of our flowers and the majority of decorations making our vision come to life in such a professional way. Brian from Ultimate Nights was our DJ and had everyone dancing and enjoying themselves with smooth transitions. Ministers and More was the officiants we used and they actually allowed us to use a ceremony that we wrote ourselves, which made it very personal. We are Jewish and they learned about our traditions and loved when we included the breaking of the glass in the ceremony. Makeup was done by Jenelle Ahmad and hair was done by Janelle Faulkner for the bride and all the bridesmaids. The bridesmaid dresses were from David's Bridal, and suits from Men's Warehouse. My bridal dress is a Essence of Australia dress purchased from Bella Bridal Gallery. My daughter was the flower girl and her dress was custom made by an Etsy shop designer. April from Your Perfect Day made her a personal "princess wand" to use instead of a traditional basket. We treated our guests to a late night snack featuring a cookie bar. All the cookies were made by our mothers and maid of honor.
